Respiratory System- Class 4 Science- Question and Answer

Respiratory System- Class 4 Science- Question and Answer

The respiratory system is one of the most important systems of our body. It helps us to breathe in oxygen from the air and breathe out carbon dioxide, which is a waste gas. Every living being needs oxygen to live, and our respiratory system makes sure that this oxygen reaches every part of the body. The main organs of this system are the nose, windpipe, and lungs. With the help of these organs, our body takes in fresh air, cleans it, and uses the oxygen to give us energy. Without breathing, we cannot survive even for a few minutes.

Respiratory System- Class 4 Science- Question and Answer

What is respiratory system?

Respiratory System

The human respiratory system is a system of organs. That is responsible for gas exchange between the body and the external environment.

2:- How many main parts of a respiratory system?

Ans:- There are three main parts of a respiratory system.
1-nose
2-wind pipe
3-lungs

 Explain nose of human body?

Ans:- Nose is the external part of human body. It is the first part of human body.Ithas two holes called nostrils. Tiny hairs are present inside the nostrils which filter dust and other particles present in the air.

Explain wind pipe of human body?

Ans:- Wind pipe is the internal part of human being. It is also called trachea. The main function of wind pipe is to connect the nose to the lungs. It also takes air down to the lungs in the chest region.

Explain lungs of human body?

Ans:- Lungs are the main organs of the respiratory system. They are located inside the chest and ribcage. They are protected by rib cage. We have two lungs- The left lung and the right lung. When we breathe in, our lungs fill with air that has oxygen. Our body uses oxygen to get energy. When we breathe out , the lungs push out carbon dioxide, which is a waste gas. Lungs are the only organs of our body that can float on water.

What is breathing?

Ans:- Breathing is a process in which we take in air and then expel it out from the body.

How many phases of breathing? Name them.

Ans:- There are two phases of breathing.
1-inhalation
2-exhalation

What is inhalation?
Respiratory System

Ans:- Inhalation is the process in which we take in air. When we breathe in, air fills the lungs so the chest moves outward.

What is exhalation?
Respiratory System

Ans:- Exhalation is the process in which we breathe out air. when we breathe out, air comes out from the lungs and the chest moves inward.

Which gas do we breathe in?

Ans:- We breathe in oxygen gas.

Which gas do we breathe out?

Ans:- We breathe out carbon dioxide gas which also contains germs and water vapour.

How does respiratory system work? Explain its functions.
Respiratory System

Ans:- The respiratory system  works by following ways.

1-As we breathe in air, the lungs are filled with fresh air reach in oxygen. This oxygen reaches different body parts through blood.

2-in return, the body parts give out carbon dioxide which reaches the lungs through blood. The lungs expel this carbon dioxide in the air we breathe out.
